BOOK REVIEW :
Have you ever wondered if you’re truly living for yourself or merely striving to meet the expectations of others? What if you could rediscover your sense of purpose amidst the chaos of life?
After a long time, I picked up a self-help book by an Indian author, and I must say—I’m mesmerized. Gayathri’s “Every Second a Sentence” is a heartfelt collection of 29 chapters, each addressing diverse emotional landscapes.
The book’s structure feels like reading letters directly from a friend’s soul, offering guidance, comfort, and clarity. Among the standout chapters, “Expect Nothing” and “Imperfections Are Perfect” deeply resonated with me. Lines like,“The people who love you won’t make you sacrifice beyond the limits that hurt you. People who value your support won’t push you to do more than they need, which could disturb your peace,” - this opened my mind to new perspectives and left me reflecting on my priorities and boundaries. However, only thin at could have been better is the cover of the book, though this is a subjective opinion and none should judge the book by its cover.
This book is more than just a read—it’s a companion. Its simple yet profound messages are a balm for anyone struggling with personal relationships, daily challenges, or their sense of self-worth. Short yet impactful, it’s the kind of book you’ll want to revisit whenever life feels overwhelming.
